Service Scavenger Hunt

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and you're enjoying the time off from school. We will not be having any Tuesday night activities until January.....I will miss you!!

There is a New Year's Eve dance at the stake center on Wednesday December 31 from 8:00 pm -12:30 am. Age 14 and up. Church dress and dance cards are required. It should be a lot of fun so I hope all of you older girls can attend.

I just wanted to share a few of the pictures Sister Hansen took from the service scavenger hunt. Sorry that there are no pictures from my team :( It was a fun activity serving our fellow ward members as well as people in our community. All those who couldn't make it that night, we sure did miss you!!

DI Assignment

This Saturday December 20 the youth have a assignment at the DI in Calimesa. We will be meeting at the Redlands building at 8:15 a.m. and leaving by 8:30. Please bring your permission slip with you. If you did not receive a permission slip Sister Hull will have some that morning. We are scheduled to work until noon and then we will return to the Redlands building where parents can pick up their daughter.
I have never done a DI assignment, but I hear it's quite enjoyable. We would love to have as many girls as possible attend. If you would like to bring money to purchase anything while we are there you may do so, but it's not required. I look forward to seeing you ALL there bright and early Saturday morning!!

A night in excellence

Last Tuesday (December 9) we held our annual Young Women in Excellence. The theme this year was "Movie Premiere." The girls got the chance to walk the red carpet and be the celebrities of the night. As each girl entered the building they had to make it past the paparazzi to have their photo taken.

Once the girls made it inside the venue the reporters continued to follow them around and ask them questions about what things they accomplished in their personal progress that year. Here is Erica being interviewed.

Sister Rodriguez did an awesome job interviewing the girls and their parents. And Sister Hansen was right there with her video taping the entire thing. Here's Sister Faroni being grilled.

Sister Myles ran the concession stand like a champ! Without her we wouldn't of been able to eat popcorn!!

The girls had a good time guessing who each baby picture belonged to. The only person to get all 21 pictures right was Sister Lucas!

These fabulous awards were presented to some of the girls who did an extra good job on their personal progress this year. Who wouldn't want a golden buttersworth?

And what's a movie premiere without a movie? The night ended with a slide show of all our beautiful young women. Truly a night of excellence!
