Night with the Bishop

Just a reminder that this Friday February 27 is the Bishop's youth activity at the church from 7-9 p.m. There will be lots of food and snacks as well as karaoke, Wii, and board games. I will also be bringing a few crafts to do for New Beginnings that I would love some help with. I was also thinking about bringing some fingernail polish and mud masks.....that might fun or scary! I encourage you all to come and to bring your friends and together we can make it a really fun night!

February's Value

I realize that February is just about over, but I wanted to highlight our value of the month before it's officially too late. This month our value has been FAITH.



The color representing faith is white. White is the purest of all the colors, just as faith is the purest of all the values. With pure faith you shall see God.

The first value is the same as the first principle of the gospel, "faith." You can't do anything in this life if you don't have faith in Jesus Christ and His plan.

"I am a daughter of Heavenly Father who loves me. I will have Faith in His eternal plan, which centers in Jesus Christ, my Savior. "

This month we had the opportunity to exercise our Faith and attend the Temple to perform baptisms. What a special experience it was to be with all you girls in the house of the Lord. I love you all so much!

NEWS FLASH

For all of you who check this blog often (and I don't think there are too many who do) you may have noticed that I haven't up-dated in awhile. I recently moved into a new home and have been without the Internet for almost two weeks!!! I finally got access today.....YEAH!! So here is a quick Young Women's up-date for all of y'all!

1. Thank-you to all of you who came out and participated in the chocolate covered strawberry fundraiser. All you girls did a great job; I was super proud of you! The fundraiser was a success and all those who participated made at least half your money for camp! Come see me to get the exact amount you earned.

2. This Saturday, February 21 we have baptisms for the dead. We will be meeting at the Redlands Building at 2:00p.m. for a 3:00 session. We would love to have a big group go, so please come if you can!

3. This coming Tuesday will be our combined activity with the boys. The Laurels are in charge and we will be playing a live version of Where's Waldo? I would like everyone to be at the church by 6:45 so we can divide into teams and leave by 7:00. We will be searching for Waldo and other crazy characters at the Moreno Valley Mall. It should be a lot of fun, so come and bring friends!!

February Spotlight

Our spotlight for the month of February is Catilin Cascaddan!

Catilin is 12 years old and in the Beehive class. She was born in Portland, Oregon and was raised in the church. She has two brothers and two sisters, she is the middle child. Some of Catilin's favorite leisure activities and talents include reading and drawing. She enjoys eating at BJ's and her favorite color is purple. Her favorite subjects in school are math and science. After high school Catilin would like to go to college and become an Aeronautical Engineer. A goal she would like to achieve is to finish her personal progress quickly. Catilin: you bring such a light to the Young Woman's Program!!
