Gone for three weeks!
Since next weekend is General Conference and the weekend after that is Stake Conference I will not see the girls on Sundays to inform them of what is coming up. So here is a list of the up-coming activities so everyone will know what is going on. The girls were also given calendars on Sunday with all the up-coming info.
Tuesday September 29th: Combined YW activity: We will be making some things that will be used at our Young Women's in Excellence Night coming up in November. (More info on that later) The girls won't want to miss out on making things for their displays!!
Tuesday October 6th: Combined YW activity: Sister Audrea Rodriguez and the Beehive class has planned a really nice activity that I think everyone will enjoy.
Tuesday October 13th: Beehive activity. Since the 14-18 year old girls will have a separate activity on Wednesday the Beehives will have their own activity during regular mutual time at the church.
Wednesday October 14th: Special fireside for girls 14-18. Fireside will be held at the Riverside Stake Center from 7-8:15 p.m. The topic will be on education and future job choices. THIS WILL BE THE MUTUAL ACTIVITY FOR MIA MAIDS AND LAURELS!!! Please let myself or another leader know if you need a ride.
Saturday October 17th: Beehive Conference!!! All Beehives are encouraged to attend their conference beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Stake Center.
Please don't hesitate to call me if you have any questions about the up-coming calendar of events.

Combined Activity
This Tuesday night is our combined activity with the boys. The teachers are in charge, so I don't have a lot of information on what is going on. I do know that the activity will be outside and that you are to come dressed in comfortable clothes and wear tennis shoes. We will be having brownies and milk for dessert. As always the activity will begin at 7:00 sharp!

You don't want to miss this!
This Tuesday night we will be having a very special activity that you really won't want to miss out on, and it will also count towards your personal progress! Sister Ashley has invited several people to come and discuss what kind of job they have, what kind of training and schooling it took to get that job, as well as an overall description of what they do. It is going to be an excellent "career night" that could be extremely beneficial! Please bring your friends, and the boys are invited to join us as well. 7:00 at our building!

Virtue
We have officially spotlighted all of our 8 values and now we have come back to Virtue, which started out in January as our first value of the month. The color representing Virtue is Gold.
"I will prepare to enter the temple and remain pure and worthy. My thoughts and actions will be based on high moral standards."
"Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies." ~Proverbs 31:10
Since we are starting to go through the values for the second time I would like to present a "value challenge" for each month to go along with your personal progress.
Challenge: If you have not started reading the Book of Mormon already I challenge you to start doing so this month. Try to read one chapter a day and see if by doing this if your daily life will be impacted at all. In order to pass of the Virtue requirement in your personal progress you must read the entire Book of Mormon cover to cover. Good luck!

Quilting
Tonight all the Young Women will be meeting together. The Mia Maids are in charge and we will be starting to cut material to make quilts. Each girl will be able to make her own quilt, which she can choose to keep for herself or donate (we will discuss the details of donating later). We have plenty of material, but if there is anyone who would like to bring her own material, please feel free to do so. Or if you happen to have some scrap fabric laying around, and you don't mind sharing, bring it!! This will be an on-going project that we will work on several more times this year. See you all tonight!
