Service

This Saturday we have a wonderful opportunity to give some service. We, along with the Young Men, will be doing some volunteer work at the D.I. Working at the D.I. is always a lot of fun and rewarding too!! If you're interested in going we will be meeting at the church this Saturday morning at 8:15. We are scheduled to work from 9-11:30 and then the D.I. will feed us lunch. We should be back in M.V. between 12:30 and 1:00. Looking forward to seeing a lot of smiling faces on Saturday!!

Tis The Season...

For beautiful Christmas lights!!!
This week everyone is in for a real treat! We will be heading to Alta Loma (where I grew up!!) to walk Thoroughbred Street. Literally every house on this street is completely decked out in lights and decorations, it is quite the sight to be seen, I promise!! We will be meeting SUPER early so we aren't out all night. We will meet at the church at 5:30 p.m. so we can leave by no later than 5:45. Please eat dinner ahead of time because we won't be stopping for food, but we might grab a quick treat afterwards! Please wear shoes comfortable for walking and bundle up because it will be cold!! I can't wait for all of you to see this!

Class Activities

First Wednesday in December...can you believe it??!! That means class activities! Laurels and Mia Maids will be meeting together and we will be leaving the church at 6:45...so arrive early!! Don't worry about eating dinner, we are eating out!! We will also take all the Laurels and Mia Maids home afterwards. Beehives will meet with Sister Clark at the church from 7-8:30. See all there!

Good Works Inspired

This week for mutual we will all be meeting together for a night focused on Personal Progress. More specifically we will be working on four different value experiences in Good Works since that is the value we are focusing on this month. So please bring your personal progress books, journals, and scriptures. We are hoping that all our Young Women earn their medallions, so please come and make that wish a reality!!

Ice Skating

This week for mutual all of the girls will be going ice skating!!! Please meet at the church at 6:30 p.m. and we will car pool to the skating rink. Make sure to dress warmly!! We will cover the price for everyone to skate, but if you would like to bring a friend they will have to pay $9.00. No additional money is required unless you would like to purchase food or a snack from the rink's snack bar. We should return home before 9:30 p.m.

November Already!!

Since this is the first Wednesday in November (can't believe it is November!!) we will be meeting in individual classes for activities. Everyone will be meeting at the church from 7-8:30 like normal. The Mia Maids will be decorating cupcakes and the Laurels are supposed to bring a quarter for a surprise outing. I'm not sure what the Beehives will be up to, but I am sure it will be fun!! Dress Up


This week we will be having a combined Halloween activity with the young men at the building regular time, 7-8:30. Please bring several "dress-up" items from home (examples: silly hats, glasses, wigs, capes, etc.) the more outrageous and crazy the better!! Items will be used to make "new" costumes and awards will be given for the best costume creations using all of the items. It sounds like the Beehives have a fun night in store for us so everyone should come for a GREAT time!!

Young Women in Excellence


This Wednesday will be our yearly Young Women in Excellence Night for all young women and their parents. The program will be held at the church from 6:30-8:30 p.m. church dress required. Dinner will be served and awards will be presented for achievements in Personal Progress. Girls are encouraged to bring items for display relating to what they have done in personal progress this year. If you have any questions please call me.

Pumpkin Carving

To get into the Halloween spirit the Mia Maids decided that we need to do a little bit of pumpkin carving for our activity this week! Same time same place!! Wear clothes you won't mind getting a little messy and get ready to have some fun. Fun fall treats will be served too!!

For all those who attend you will be able to pass off 4 personal progress experiences!! Weekend Events

Just a reminder that tonight (Friday September 24) is Bishop's Youth Night from 7-9 p.m. at the church building. It is a movie night with pizza and snacks too. Come and bring your friends!!
Then tomorrow, Saturday September 25, is the Beehive Conference at the Lasselle building starting at 10:00. All beehives are encouraged to attend, every year it's a lot of fun and you won't want to miss out!!

Glow in the Dark

For mutual this week we will be playing Glow in the Dark Volleyball with the boys. They have requested that everyone wear white or light colored clothing in order to show up better in the dark and comfortable tennis shoes. Also glow sticks and other glow in the dark clothing is encouraged! As always we will meet from 7-8:30 at our building. See you all there!

Temple Trip

This Saturday (September 4th) we will have the privilege of going to this beautiful temple for baptisms. Our session begins at 3:00 p.m. so please meet at the church at 2:00 dressed in church clothes, and don't forget to bring dry undergarments to change into afterwards and your temple recommend. This is such a special experience, I hope most of you are able to attend!

Heritage Night

This week for mutual Sister Clark and the Beehives planned a Heritage Night for all of us to enjoy. We will meet at the same time and same place as always. We have been asked to bring something that represents out heritage. This could be anything: pictures, knickknacks, journals, articles of clothing, or food. Softball Schedule

Just wanted to post all the up-coming softball games so the girls can make plans to be there!! Remember that you need to be there 30 minutes before the game begins, bring lots of water, sunscreen, and your friends are more than welcome to come and play!! All games will be played on the softball field at our church building.

66ers Game

This week for mutual we are taking ALL the girls to the Inland Empire 66ers baseball game. We will be meeting at the church on Wednesday July 21st at 6:00. The game starts at 7:00 in San Bernardino. I estimate us being back to the church between 9:30 and 10:00. There are a limited number of tickets available so you must let me know if you would like to attend if you have not signed up already!!

Pioneer Trek

Attention all youth!! Are you ready for a little bit of this??

This years Youth Conference is going to be unbelievable....something you are NEVER going to forget!!
Here are the details:
Thursday July 15th: Meet at the church at 7:30 a.m. dressed and ready to go with all your belongings. Remember to pack lightly because you will be carrying everything you pack. Drivers will take you to Mile High Ranch where you will be put into a family and the trek will begin!!
Saturday July 17th: All youth will be picked up at Riley's Farm in Oak Glenn at 1:00 p.m. and brought back to the church for parents to pick them up. I'm sure everyone is going to need a long hot shower at this point!!!

Youth Conference Kick Off

This Tuesday, July 13th, is the kick-off to Youth Conference. All youth attending the 2010 conference are to meet at the Redlands Building at 8:00 a.m. There will be a blood drive for those old enough to participate as well as a service project consisting of assembling hygiene kits. Following the service activities there will be a BBQ outside at the pavilion. Everything should be wrapped up around 1:00. Youth Conference is for all youth ages 14-18. If there is anyone out there who would still like to attend and has not turned in an application please contact Sister Hull.

Wednesday June 30th from 7-8:30 p.m. the young women and young men will be meeting together to compete in a crazy game show activity!! This will be one crazy fun activity that you aren't going to want to miss!! So come and bring your friends, maybe a camera, and be ready for some awesome competition!!

Camp

Girl's Camp is finally here!!!
After all the preparation and anticipation it is finally time to go to camp!! All campers need to be at the Stake Center tomorrow morning (June 22nd) and 9:00 a.m. to catch the bus going to camp! If you are a YCL you should already be up at camp! The buses will arrive back at the Stake Center on Friday June 25th around 11:30 a.m. and parents can pick up their girls then. I hope everyone enjoys their camp experiences to the fullest!! I will see you all up there on Thursday night!

Hike

This Saturday June 19th we will be finishing off our girl's camp requirements by going on a hike. We will be meeting at the home of Sister Bartmess on Saturday morning at 7:45 a.m. We want to leave for the hike no later than 8:00 so we can attempt to beat the heat. We will hike for about 4 miles through the hills surrounding the Bartmess home. Afterwards for all those who would like to Sister K has offered her home for swimming and lunch.
