Rock Climbing Pics

We had so much fun yesterday rock climbing at the indoor center. You girls really impressed me at how well you all climbed to the top of the rocks!! Here a ton of pictures for your viewing pleasure. Some of the pictures have a misty circle effect, don't worry it's just my camera picking up some of the chalk that was in the air. Enjoy!
Here's Destiny making her way to the top.

Nicole almost to the top of one of the boulders.
Cute Brittany climbing without a harness.
Mesi trying to keep up with Brother Hudgens.
Destiny, Jeana, Maranda, and Brianna take a breather in between climbing to the top of the rock.
Jeana beginning the long climb to the top!
Little Leticia showing the older girls how it's done.
Maranda and Taylor.
Mesi on her way down after ringing the bell at the top.
Sisters Erin and Catilin race to the top.
The group waiting their turn to face the mountain.
Holly on top of the boulder she just finished climbing.
Keep going Mariah almost there!!
Leslie "hanging" in there on one of the boulders.
Gracie, Julia, Dori, and Ashley opted to watch everyone (boys??) from the upstairs area.
Grace getting a little work-out in while we were there.
Erica was the work-out machine! She stayed on that treadmill the ENTIRE time we were there. I sure was impressed.
Natasha was such a good cheerleader for everyone. She cheered and encouraged everyone as they climbed the rocks.

It was such a fun activity. For those of you who missed it, we just might have to go again another time! Thanks to the Priests for planning such a fun activity.

Heart Attack

Before I get to the pictures from the heart attacking I just wanted to remind everyone that THIS Tuesday January 27 our combined activity with the boys will be rock climbing at the indoor gym Threshold in Riverside. We will be meeting at the church at 6:30 and we will be back to the church by 8:35 for your parents to pick you up. If you haven't turned in a permission slip already make sure you bring it!! You will NOT be allowed to go unless your permission slip is turned in!!
Now onto the heart attacking!

Friday night Sister Hansen and I took the Laurels (and a couple LUCKY Beehives) to heart attack Ariel and Nicolette. Both these girls are turning 16 and will be joining the Laurel class. So if you happen to see these girls at school this week be sure to wish them a happy birthday and encourage them both to come to some of our super fun activities!!

The group of attackers!
Ashley was our master chalk artist.
Leslie was one lucky beehive who got to join us!
Crystal caught off guard!

Erin making sure the heart stays on the stick

Since Keely is our newest Young Woman we let her come and join in on the fun!

Ariel's lawn after we got down with it!

I hope both girls were surprised and feel like they are welcome members of our Laurel class!!

Value of the Month

This month's value is the new value: Virtue.

The color for this new value is Gold. Virtue is such an important standard to live by, it's kind of like our "golden value."

"Virtue is a pattern of thought and behavior based on high moral standards. It encompasses chastity and moral purity. Virtue begins in the heart and in the mind. It is the accumulation of thousands of small decisions and actions." ~Elaine S. Dalton

"Let virtue garnish thy thoughts unceasingly, then shall thy confidence wax strong in the presence of God." D&C 121:45

I encourage all of you girls to think about what this value means to you, and what decisions you can make on a daily basis that will help you live a more virtuous life.

Spotlight of the Month

This month our spotlight is Holly Hudgens!

Holly was born in Riverside and was raised in the church. She is the oldest of three girls. Some of Holly's favorite leisure activities and talents include swimming, reading, and drawing. She enjoys eating at Olive Garden and her favorite color is green. Her favorite subject in school is lunch, but if she had to pick a different subject it would be science. After high school Holly would like to attend college. A goal she would like to achieve would be to become successful.

Holly, it is such a pleasure having you in Young Women's! We love you!!
