Natasha

Our spotlight for the month of August is Natasha!!

Natasha is a Laurel and currently serves as the 1st counselor. She just graduated from High School in June and will be leaving Young Women's at the end of this month....she just had to be spotlighted before she left us! Natasha was born in Glendora, California on October 8, 1991. She has one older sister and two younger ones, and all four girls plus their mom will be in Young Women together for the month of August. Natasha enjoys being outdoors appreciating nature as well as star gazing; she is also a fan of reading. She doesn't have a favorite subject in school and is glad to be starting college in the fall at RCC, but until then Natasha will spend some time this summer swimming and watching Animal Planet. Natasha's favorite colors are black and dark green and favorite candy is peanut M&M's. When she eats out she likes to go to Chili's or Pepe's Pollo and at home Natasha can't resist a steak, the girl loves her meat!! Once school does start Natasha is planning on taking all of her prerequisites for a two-year program in animal training for the ultimate goal of becoming an animal trainer and behaviorist. Natasha would also like to serve a mission and get married in the temple someday. Natasha, you have been an excellent addition to our Young Women's. Thank you for your example and sweet spirit. We sure are going to miss you! Visit Often!!

Integrity

The value for the month of August is Integrity.
"People of integrity and honesty not only practice what they preach, they are what they preach. And the Savior stands as the finest example." -David Bednar
"When one is loyal to the truth, we say he is a person of Integrity. When one is loyal to the truth under intense opposition, we say he is a person of great Integrity." -Royden G. DerrickWhat is purple?
Grapes are purple
Grape jelly, grape juice, grape bubblegum
The Raisin Bran box is purple
Purple is bangles and baubles
Purple is violet and lavender
It's royal, stalwart, and true
It is the color of the Mountains Majesty
Purple is to be honored
It is loyal
A soldier who is wounded in battle wears a Purple Heart
Purple is Oh; it's hard to find purple
It is very rare
Few possess it
Purple is when the heart and mind and deed become one in truth
What is purple?
Purple is INTEGRITY
Oh, what glory to shine with this color purple
"That you may retain your self-respect, it is better to displease the people by doing what you know is right, than to temporarily please them by doing what you know is wrong." -William J.H. Boetcker
I want to remember who I am
and not just once a week.
I want to represent the Lord
Each time I think and speak.
I want to be His witness
In all things and places, too.
I want to emulate Him
In the many things I do.
I want to be His servant
With my heart and soul and mind.
I want to seek His lost sheep
And not quit until I find.
I want to praise Him always
And make Him proud of me.
I want to do this with my heart
And with Integrity.
